Haiku and "Successive Haiku" - (several Haiku on a single theme) written by a Catholic Christian Hermit.

Name: Mary Kathryn
Come aside and pray for a while. You are never "lonely" when you "Are 'alone with the Alone'. The Avatar is my old cat, Persia. God So loves us He became man to live, die, and rise for us so we could live in joyous communion with Him and each other forever. A Catholic Christian "Hermit" is someone who loves the entire world, embracing them in the love of Christ through solitary prayer, silence, & penance for the salvation of all. Fully Vatican II, Mary Kathryn is a "consecrated lay hermit" in Vows before a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church, following a Benedictine Rule and spirituality. She's fiercely orthodox: "middle-of-the-road". Her MOTTO: "In Medias Res" "The Truth lies in the middle, between the extremes." Come, listen to the Word SPEAK in silence!

Sleep peacefully now
Nothing can ever threaten
Or hurt you again.
-
-
Sleep peacefully love,
Forever in God's arms, close.
Cradled in His Heart.
-
-
With deepest sympathies to the
Placker and Whitacker Families,
Teachers, Friends, Neighbors.
-
-
It has now been two full months since the
brutal senseless murder of two innocent girls,
"best friends forever":
Skyla Jade Whitacker 11,
Taylor Dawn Paschal Placker 13
during an afternoon walk on a
country road outside little Weleetka OK.
I offer this for the consolation of
their family and friends,
while praying for the repentance
of and capture of (surrender of)
the killer or killers.
As a little girl who grew up and
played on a gravel road so long ago,
I'm taking this to heart,
making Holy Hours, praying Rosaries,
praying constantly for the victims,
their family, friends, the community.

Taylor and Skyla
Murdered 08 June 2008 Weleetka OK, Unsolved
-Copyright 2008 Mary Kathryn, hermit
-
Two months, now, since . . .
Innocence died, and trust . . . .
Fear clutches each heart.
-
-
Skyla and Taylor
Went for a walk, nearly home,
When murdered. WHY? WHY?
-
-
Pornography, fear,
Hatred, snuff films, meth -- which?
Drove killers insane?
-
-
Tears still stream, heart aches . . . .
Precious children of God shot.
Stupid, senseless waste.
-
-
Dirt road, poor but loved!
Animals to play with. Friends.
Safety, friendship killed.
-
-
Oh Blood of Christ, wash!
Heal. Cleanse. Give repentance.
Restore peace of soul.
-
-
God's arm enfold them,
Glorify them forever.
With Angels, singing.
-
-
In your holy arms,
Lord, enfold community --
Help them to forgive.
-
-
God is calling YOU,
Killers, to surrender,
To repent. Mercy!
-
-
Thirteen bullets.
Murderers kill families.
Rip insides out.
-
-
Far and wide they grieve,
Such cowardice, such evil,
And pray to God: Help!
-
-
Bring murderers shame,
From shame repentance: Christ's Blood!
Wash them clean again.

Chasing Butterflies
-Copyright 2008 Mary Kathryn, hermit
-
Chasing butterflies,
Rescuing box turtles
Hand in hand they walked.
-
-
Sharing girlhood's dreams,
Friendship's first blossoms, two girls,
Walked down dusty road.
-
-
Eternity called,
Jesus said, "Come up here, girls."
Washed clean by His Blood.
-
-
---
-
-
Somewhere, murderers
Gloat turns to instense terror,
Horror at their sins.
-
-
The Blood of Jesus
Waits to wash you clean, they prayed
"Forgive them . . . . know not . . . "
-
-
"Return to the Lord,
Do penance, turn yourselves in"
Your victims pray.
-
-
Comfort the parents
Lord, the friends and teachers, too,
Investigators.

Oklahoma's Hot
-Copyright 2008 Mary Kathryn, hermit
-
Oklahoma's hot.
Not much topsoil left . Graze.
Settlers scratch living.
-
-
Hard work, church goers,
Tough no nonsense people who
Rejoice in the Lord!
-
-
When men lose touch
With decency, reason,
We locks 'em in cage.
-
-
And prays for bad guys
To get their senses back straight
So's they can come home.
-
-
Outlaws settled here
Then sooners, boomers, and
Married with natives.

Oklahoma's NOT Kansas City
-Copyright 2008 Mary Kathryn, hermit
-
Not Kansas City,
Oklahoma's a far piece . . .
Country's peacefulness.
-
-
We's got us snakes,
Tarantulas, scorpions,
And tough good people.
-
-
Them that was, once'n
Outlaws, now run feedstores,
Takes special to live.

-One Path to Carmel's Heights
-Copyright 2008 Mary Kathryn, hermit
-
In spite of beatings,
I took the Road Less Traveled
And climbed Carmel's shores.
-
-
Inching my way up,
From deepest ocean trenches,
Lifted by God's grace.
-
-
Leaving brothers, all,
I grasped one rock, 'nother, up!
Eyes on the Summit.
-
-
One Pearl only:
To be God's holy bride, sought.
Pigheaded, I climbed.
-
-
Bruised and broken, up.
Sliding down, losing grip, on . . . .
Father's call: "Come here!"
-
-
Unseen, he lifted
My faltering heart oft.
Set me on the plain.
-
-
Bandaged, healed, my heart,
While I slept in His arms, safe,
Amidst lions' roars.
